In the heart of the charming Yon Valley, 15 minutes from La Roche-sur-Yon, this township bordering the Yon River has a beautiful heritage, including the Nesmy castle with its park and ponds. The park of the castle of Nesmy is a site protected as a historical monument. A park of 47 hectares, designed in 1842 by André Leroy, a landscape architect from Anjou, on the remains of an 11th century estate. It includes a hydraulic complex of 5 ponds, attributed to the Bühler brothers. It is surrounded by a belt of precious trees and forms a typical 19th century landscape park. Guided tours are offered in the summer. Nesmy has other tourist attractions such as the Moulin de Rambourg which will delight walkers and fishing lovers who will indulge their passion on the banks of the Yon. Nestled in a green setting crossed by the Yon River, this water mill, created for flour production, has kept its complete equipment dating from the first half of the 20th century. Not to be missed either, the artisanal pottery of Nesmy, more than 150 years old, as well as the Poulpican, a true object of legend, a candlestick in the shape of a mischievous elf. For sportsmen, the Golf de la Domangère is located on a remarkable site. Nesmy also offers several walking and cycling paths. Don't miss the Festival Au Son de l'Yon, which takes place at the Moulin de Rambourg, the first 4 Thursdays of August. Free open air concerts.
