On the edge of the main axis of the island, L'Épine has retained its authenticity. It is the stronghold of the salt marshes. Sauniers and fishermen sailors occupy most of the village. Monplaisir is the name of the seigneurial residence which has become the town hall. The commune offers beautiful walks through the marshes or the woods. From the tip of the Loire to the Pointe du Devin, the beach of L'Épine stretches for more than 3 km, discovering, at low tide, rocks and sandpits rich in shells, which fishermen love on foot. At the end of the bay, the port of Morin shelters fishing and pleasure boats. L'anse de Luzéronde is a delicious little haven of serenity.
