La Barre-de-Monts makes the cut between the Bourgneuf bay and the dune of the Pays de Monts and extends to the Breton marsh. Don't miss the Pommier bridge and the Vivier bridge, listed as historical monuments, they are among the oldest monuments of the marsh (17th and 18th century). Also worth seeing is the Quai port, today the Pont Neuf port. The "carrelets" give a typical character to this sector. Upstream, the Porteau lock, listed as a Historic Monument, is the oldest structure in the Breton marshlands of Vendée (17th century). On the sea side, La Barre-de-Monts is the main maritime link with the island of Yeu.
