Situated in the north of the Sarthe department, this small, characterful village of over 940 inhabitants is within easy reach of Fresnay-sur-Sarthe and Sillé-le-Guillaume. It's also well served, with an SNCF train station and an A28 freeway exit 7 kilometers away. Vivoin is famous for its Saint-Hippolyte priory and the 11th-15th-century church of the same name, as well as the 12th-century Romanesque gateway and the Coq Hardi inn, three other notable monuments. Near the station, a charming hotel welcomes you. Hemp kilns are still to be found here, testifying to the importance of this crop in the region's agricultural tradition.
