This municipality in Sarthe, west of Upper Maine, between the Mancelles Alps in the north and Champagne to the south, has 850 inhabitants. Its village, 3 km from Sillé-le-Guillaume, is grouped around its remarkable Romanesque church (XII century), a remnant of a former priory founded in 1133 by the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Le Mans. First of all Sanctus Remigius Juxta Silliacum, this parish was later named Saint-Rémy of the Logs before adopting its present name in 1790. In addition to the church, there is the manor of the Oigny Butte and the ruins of a Maladrerie. A number of places refer to chapels now missing. The village keeps shops and artisans.
