At the end of the 18th century, Eaux-Bonnes was only a wooden village located at the end of the narrow gorge of the Sourde. It is only in the following century that were built beautiful houses of which there are some remains today. However, between the 16th and the 19th century, a great number of celebrities came to discover the benefits of its waters: Queen Marguerite de Navarre, Jeanne d'Albret, Henri IV, Catherine de Navarre, the poets Du Bartas or Olhagaray, Loreau, as well as later Montaigne, Delacroix, Flaubert, Taine, Louis Barthou, etc. You can discover Eaux-Bonnes thanks to a tree-lined path
