12 km southwest of Alençon, Champfrémont, a commune of the Mayenne of 300 inhabitants, lies at the foot of the Avaloirs Mount (416 m above sea level), on the side of the hills of Multon. Multon? For multiple tons, because the Multon massif consists of four small peaks covered with forest. This very hilly territory is particularly appreciated by the runners. Champfrémont? A certain Roman named Frémont (Frémundus in Latin) had established his camp on this site. In 1126, the presence was confirmed by the lords of Campo Fremusio and their military camp whose traces were traced during excavations carried out in the nineteenth century. Campo Fremusio became Champs Fermoux in 1450 and then Champfrémont. Surrounded by a castle and the wonderful site of Sainte-Anne de Champfrémont chapel with its miraculous source, a conservatory orchard and hiking trails… the opportunities and the advantages do not miss a mushroom or campoformenian stopover under the old name. You can stay at Jacky Roux, a passionate motorbike, a long-run traveler, who welcomes you to an authentic length of the late 19 th century, La Grange Ô Belles (see accommodation at the end of the guide).
