As its name suggests, this commune has a special place in wine production, particularly the Coteaux-du-Layon (AOC). The location of the vines in the south-eastern part of the massif and their particularly sunny exposure makes it possible to obtain overripe grapes (i.e. grapes harvested up to 2 months after the normal harvest date). This grape variety is so much a part of the town's heritage that new residents receive glasses of coteaux-du-layon as a welcome gift. On them is represented the house of the Porch (or of the Tithe), historical monument with half-timbering, upright since the 15th century.
