CHÂTEAU D’ÉPIRÉ

Winery

Château d'Épiré is one of the oldest estates in the Savennières appellation. The estate has been handed down from father to son since 1882, and today the fifth generation of the Bizard family looks after 11 hectares of hillsides overlooking the Loire, 9 of which are dedicated to the Savennières AOC. The three parcels located around the property produce three different vintages. A guided tour of the cellars will allow you to discover the secrets of the wine making process. It is also possible to discover the vineyard (1h30 guided tour) and its sublime panorama.

DOMAINE AUX MOINES

Winery

Monique Laroche planted her first vineyard in 1974 on land that has been cultivated since the Middle Ages. Her daughter converted the vineyard to organic farming in 2009. The vines are ideally planted at the top of a hillside bordering the Loire, sheltered from the north winds in winter and cooled in summer by the west winds. The estate is planted exclusively with chenin, on the Roche aux Moines. You can taste savennières with a powerful nose, mineral, warm, with golden colours. The place is simply breathtaking with its airs of Tuscany of the Loire.

In this cooperative grocery store, local and organic products are available. Favoring short circuits, the store also offers a cellar corner of the most sympathetic where a number of good wines of Savennières are mixed. A grocery store as warm as the land it promotes.

Her story is linked to that of a dynasty of women and, like three generations before her, Evelyne de Pontbriand here signs the promise of a wine... feminine and romantic. Natural tastes, too. Since 2009, its wines have been organically grown.
