One of the most beautiful sites in the Anjou hinterland, where the renowned vineyards run steeply down to the sumptuous Loire. The Romans already produced wine in Savennières. In the Middle Ages, the monks continued to exploit these schistose slopes, well exposed to the sun, which still today produce wines with a worldwide reputation. It was at the Château de Serrant that Louis XIV tasted this beverage, which was once compared by Louis XI to... a drop of gold! The Savennières appellation was made official in 1952. Dry or semi-dry white, this jewel of the Loire viticulture, made from Chenin grapes, owes its specificity to the well exposed hillsides which constitute its terroir.
