The appellation Bordes can be found in notarial deeds in 1511 and at the end of the 18th century on Cassini's map. One certainty, the word borda means "house", and around the defensive site of hills would be constituted, according to the geologist Palassou from Palassou in the 18th century, of powdered materials, "conglomerate of poorly calibrated elements joined together by a solid mortar", and various molasses flakes, "molasses being sedimentary rocks, often composed of cement sandstone and clayey limestone". In situ, rare prehistoric remains, italic wine amphorae, indicating that there may have been a wine trade with Italy, following the protohistoric route of Cami Salié or chemin Henri IV. Another obvious and not least, Bordes had an industrial activity dating back to Antiquity, as evidenced by the ancient tools discovered on the site. And today, the only name Bordes refers to Turbomeca and its rapid evolution.
