From August 6 to 20, 1922, 34 antique gliders took part in the Experimental Gliding Congress of Combegrasse. This event took place at Camp Mouillard, in the region of Clermont-Ferrand.

Through the tests of flying machines more improbable than the others, the Congress of Combegrasse allowed to discover the thermal ascents and to theorize the slope flight.

The history of this founding congress at the origin of the beginnings of French gliding is told in the manner of the aeronautical press of the time, through 10 front pages inspired by the newspaper "Les Ailes", revisited to present the competing aircraft and their history.
