This medieval village is a living testimony of the 15th and 16th centuries to be discovered in the 4th ecomuseum of the valley, in the footsteps of the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela. It is a stopover on the Aragonese Way (camino aragonés), a section of the pilgrimage route that follows the course of the River Aragon. Of a semi-medieval character with its two 14th-century defence towers (one of which is half destroyed and the other, known as the Fortified House, near the church, has become the Town Hall), its houses are tightly packed together and reveal wooden or stone window lintels and various sculptures. One of them is an armoured residence, the residence of a 15th century notable, Bernard de Salafranque, Jeanne d'Albret's notary, displaying a Gothic portal, mullioned windows and sculptures on the north window frames. Nearby is the wash-house. The Saint-Michel church, renovated in the 17th century, has a remarkable black limestone stoup decorated with a scallop shell, a bumblebee and a bearded mask.
