Does this village and its castle ring a bell? You probably recognise them from Jean-Claude Brialy's film Les Malheurs de Sophie, shot here in 1979. It's a little dated, but the Château de la Lorie has kept the same princely airs as it did back then. Admirably maintained, the gardens and the building are open to visitors for part of the year. The old village, which dominates the banks of the river Oudon running through the town, offers a beautiful view of the surrounding plains. A rest for the body and soul before heading back to the presbytery, all stone and slate, a historical monument since 1976
