23 kilometres northwest of Angers and 5 kilometres south of Le Lion-d'Angers, this commune is a pretty little port on the winding river Mayenne. It is made up of two former communes that were joined by the construction of a bridge in 1880. It is one of the Loire villages where the old buildings are the best preserved: Saint-Martin-de-Vertou church (11th century), 17th and 18th century half-timbered houses, old dwellings... This commune of the Haut Anjou is one of the most charming villages in the department. An ideal starting point for a river trip or to cycle along the Mayenne on sunny days.
