Located in the heart of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine nature park, Beaufort-en-Anjou is a town full of charm and surprises. Although it was very prosperous during the period of the sailboat industry (19th century), it is by following in the footsteps of Jeanne de Laval, wife of the King of Anjou in the 15th century, that visitors are invited to explore this charming town. A marking on the ground leads you from the main square to the Halles, revealing the old hospital, the private mansions, the Saint-Joseph-de-la-Flèche convent, classified as a historic monument since 1969, and the remains of a fortress built on the hill overlooking the area.
