Ideally situated between Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Bidart is a typical Basque village overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, which has managed to preserve its gentle character, in contrast to the concrete seaside resorts. Here, the coastline is lined with traditional red and green half-timbered houses. On the newly renovated village square, local produce markets and Basque pelota games punctuate the weekends. With 6 beaches stretching over 5 km, Bidart is a paradise for surfers the world over, thanks to its famous Parlementia wave. Bidart is also a great playground in an unspoilt natural setting, and has been awarded the "Ville de Surf" 2-star label.
