UMIH PAYS BASQUE
L'Union des Métiers et des Industries de l'Hôtellerie is a professional body with more than 700 members (cafés, restaurants, hotels) aiming to federate the entire hotel and catering profession. Its missions are to provide information on the activity and legislation, to train on operating permits for licences III, IV and restaurant licences, to represent its members with local authorities, and to promote their professional interests. This spokesperson for the profession also represents its members in numerous local bodies: Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Departmental Committee for Tourism, Regional Committee for Tourism, Industrial Tribunal, Joint Collecting Body, etc. The UMIH plays an important lobbying role with the public authorities. It fights to highlight the considerable weight of the profession in the tourism economy and to bring national and European authorities to take better account of the specific characteristics of the profession. It is also a platform for job offers in this sector.
