Brézé, this enigmatic stronghold on the borders of Maine-et-Loire, close to Deux-Sèvres and Touraine, contains not only a château unique in Europe, but above all a special terroir. For centuries, the surrounding land has been home to vines that draw their particular minerality from a soil that contains more than just tuffeau. Clays, marls, marine sediments, veins of crystalline rock and alterations of metalliferous rock are just some of the riches that form the food base for vines at this latitude. The dry white wines of Brézé are still renowned for their distinctive character.
