Whether in terms of location or cuisine, the Reserve is once again up to the task this year! Not only do we come here to enjoy an exceptional view of the castle and Maine, but also to taste a gourmet and inventive bistro cuisine while remaining accessible to modest budgets. As a starter, hazelnut terrine is served in generous portions, but it is just as easy to fall for the cromesquis of Saint-Marcellin and its red onion chutney or the perfect egg, creamy with rum carrots and parsley chanterelles. We continue with a very generous shoulder of lamb confit with rosemary, a crispy salmon with dill or superb burgers, served by a smiling and attentive staff. The finishing touch comes with dessert with a French toast style brioche accompanied by its pear poached in Layon and a creamy yogurt ice cream. Finally, we salute the richness of the wine list, with a very fine selection of Loire Valley wines.
