Located 35 km from Nantes and 20 km from Pornic, View of the Celts for its geographical location, which settled on the island and surrounded it from their famous "Murus galicus" (9 m wide, 3 m high) and named it Vidua, which means "tree". Conquered by the Romans, Vidua became Viriliacum ("as they are virgil"), suggesting that the siege was long and difficult. In the life of the century Virilliacum, the Roman name of View, has its castle on the butte of Genonville, completely disappeared since. In the xiith century, a parish church dedicated to Saint Philbert was surrounded by a cemetery that left only a cross of Malta and the walls. Recent excavations have discovered merovingian sarcophagi. Later in the Middle Ages Cistercian monks settled in Buzay and began drying the marshes to make them grow. Moss, locks, dikes, canals and stretches were built, many of which remain today. View kept its walls until the end of religious wars. The history of the commune is also linked to the castle of Blanchardais, where there are great names of history, such as Jean II, duke of Brittany, and then Gilles de Rais. This is where the insurgents began to turn to Paimbœuf in 1793. The beautiful pigeon that could receive 2,600 pigeons is still visible today. Finally, the beautiful old houses of the commune testify to its rich past, marked by the activity of the business. Nearby, the Martinière Canal and Princé Forest offer beautiful walks.
