Nestled in the heart of the Brière Regional Natural Park, these megalithic monuments attest to the ancient occupation of the area. To counter the Breton influence on the Guérande peninsula, the Merovingian king Clotaire I decided to create the village. The belvedere of its bell tower offers a magnificent panorama on the marsh. The weavers, once numerous in the town, have given way to polyculture and active tourism. Saint-Lyphard has a heritage of 800 thatched cottages scattered in numerous hamlets such as Kerhinet, the most famous of them, a museum village, restored to its original state by the Brière Regional Natural Park
