THE DOBRÉE MUSEUM
The son of a shipowner living in Nantes, Thomas Dobrée (1810-1895) devoted his life to building up an eclectic collection. In the heart of Nantes, the Dobrée Museum brings together two remarkable buildings: the Dobrée Palace, in the neo-medieval style, with its 30-meter high tower, former episcopal residence, and the Touche Manor, former episcopal residence. Its archaeological collections, rich in 135 000 works, are exceptional. Closed for renovation, it will reopen its doors in 2024. The Dobrée Museum will reinvent itself and present permanent and temporary exhibitions. The auditorium of the new Dobrée will be able to be a conference room, a performance hall or an exhibition hall. To learn more and follow the museum's news, visit the website. The gardens remain open every day.
Le bâtiment de style néogothique est étonnant, cherchez donc tous les animaux sur ses façades...et si vous venez fin printemps/été vous aurez la chance de venir sentir les plantes et herbes aromatiques du jardin "de curé" ...
