LE PUNJAB
Restaurant of Indian and Pakistani specialities near the station of Nantes with a cuisine rich in spices and flavours
Le Punjab is Mr Tahir's restaurant of Indian and Pakistani specialities, located not far from the North station of Nantes. This restaurant offers a sober style room with a few paintings on the walls and a charming welcome. You will find on the menu everything that makes up the richness and diversity of this cuisine all in spices and flavours, namely chicken madras, korma or massala shrimps, beef vindaloo, roghanjosh or tikka massala lamb, Biryani (traditional complete dish made of rice) with different recipes! For instance, try Punjab Biryani (with different meats and dried fruits), there are also shrimp, chicken, lamb, vegetables and beef. A fully vegetarian menu will delight fans with a choice of samossas, raita and Bahja onion as starters, followed by Palak Paneer (chopped fresh spinach and cheese), or Bengan Burtha (eggplant caviar, tomato, sauce and herbs) or Daal Makni (Indian lentils with butter and garlic). New products have seen the light of day with the Palak Aloo (simmered fried potatoes, tomato sauce, rice...) or the new Aloo Gobie (cauliflower with fried potatoes, rice...). We accompany them with the famous Nan breads with cheese or garlic... An Indian dessert to finish? Try the delicious Gulab Jamun (a ball of cottage cheese surrounded by coconut and honey syrup and cardamom) or the new kheer (rice pudding, coconut, almonds)! The menu is wide: it should satisfy all your desires! As for the younger ones, they will enjoy chicken tikka, flavoured rice, French fries and semolina cake, just to change fried nuggets. Note new recipes: as a starter, try the beef tikka (grilled chicken cubes with spices) but also the new dishes: the Daal chicken (with Indian lentils), the Vindaloo (with potatoes, curry sauce, coriander...) or the Palak (with spinach). Beef dishes have also been enriched with Punjab Beef Tikka Massala (grilled pieces of beef with spices, tomatoes, peppers), but also beef Palak or daal. As for Kofta (meatballs), they are now available in Madras, curry, vindaloo or korma versions. Lamb lovers will also find Vindaloo and Palak. Lunchtime menus are cheap, hearty and delicious. Le Punjab also offers a takeaway service, perfect for those who want to have lunch at the office or have it delivered to their home. All that's left to do is find Indian music! The restaurant does not serve alcohol.
