You will find a breathtaking view of the peninsula at the price of a slight whirling. In this recently renovated garden, close to the train station, a snail's road leads to a butte, especially from the ballast of ships that are supplied with Guérande salt. On Mont Esprit, observe 360 ° from right to left Batz-sur-Mer and its tower Saint-Guénolé, Le Pouliguen, La Baule, Guérande and its collegiate, La Turballe and Pen Bron before you look at the port of Du and the rest of the commune.

THE OLD CROISIC

Street square and neighborhood to visit
4/5
3 reviews

Take for half an hour walking in the streets of the old Croisic on a 1,5 km journey through the streets of the city. The th and th centuries are periods of full prosperity for the port of Croisic. Taking advantage of the trade in salt, cod fishing and shipbuilding, shipowners and traders are getting richer. You must stroll through the narrow streets of this shipowners'town to discover the traces. The streets of the Church, Saint-Christophe and Saint-Yves houses wooden houses of the th and th centuries. The house Guillaume André is one of the finest specimens of this architecture of the th century. The beautiful waterfront residences, the former city hotel occupied by the Duke of Brittany, the th century governor of Brittany, make Croisic a very attractive destination. The sites remind us that she was loved by the poets: Musset, José Maria de Hérédia (Corner rue Haute-des-Bains and Rue Porte and 15, Port-Ciguet quay). At the foot of the Boom, the superb bronze statue of Hervé Ministerial, works by sculptor René Paris. You can also remove a «circuits» guide from the Tourist Office free of charge on four proposed thematic circuits at Croisic.

CIRCUIT " IN THE PAINTERS' COLOURS "

Hiking
4/5
1 review

In the footsteps of the artists who passed or stayed at the Croisic in the 19th and 20th centuries, you will follow in the footsteps of great names such as Eugène Boudin, Paul Signac, Maxime Maufra, Charles Jacques, Henri Le Sidaner, Jean-Émile Laboureur but also regional artists such as Émile Gautier, Émile Guillaume, Jack Cholet, Eugène-Jean Chapleau, Georges Lhermitte and many others. What holds the particular attention of the various painters passing through are the animation of the boats in the port, the sardines boats with coloured sails, the bustle during the auction sale or the traditional maritime scenes. The changing lights of the Traict, the wild coast and the ocean at any time of the day inspire artists. The reproductions of their paintings, made at the Croisic, are presented on desks facing the painted place, all along the two routes, the port and the wild coast. The first route, which runs from the cove of Les Rouleaux to the quay at Port Charly, runs through 15 colourful canvases with impressionist, pointillist or cubist accents. The second, from Castouillet to Crucifix Bay, testifies to the attraction of a still wild coast.
