Nantes Metropole. Located north of Nantes, the commune of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre has more than 19,000 inhabitants, the Chapelains, as well as beautiful natural and heritage resources. There are many reasons that could lead you to come and stay there: first and foremost, there are certainly those walks along what François 1st called "the most beautiful river in France", the Erdre, of course. The paths that run along it are a delight for walkers or cyclists, and allow them to immerse themselves in a luxuriant and generous nature, but also in a most remarkable built heritage, including the Château de la Gascherie, the Manoir de la Desnerie and the Château de la Poterie, a magnificent folly built in Nantes at the end of the 18th century. The Chapel also offers many walks to discover a local historical heritage: the old Roman road, the Forges fountain, the Cherry port or the bread ovens that you may have the opportunity to see in operation. Finally, on the heights of the commune, the moors of La Vaillantière will reveal themselves to walkers or cyclists who love wide open spaces. A municipality full of wealth and worth a visit!
