This small town of 1,400 people is worth a visit! First of all, you should know that the inhabitants bear the singular name of Sarrazins: in past centuries, it was not clear what a fierce mood this population was in, hidden behind these fortifications. Of these, there is not much left, except a network of unfortunately impassable underground passages. You will still see the gate of the old castle, which bears the motto "No one rubs shoulders with it", very much in line with the shady reputation that precedes the Saracens. Also worth discovering are the ruins of the Saint-Louis chapel (13th century), which offers visitors a superb panoramic view of the Calais region on the one hand and the Audomarois on the other. Tournehem is also a territory of water and windmills, the most notable of which are perhaps the one located in the main square of the village and the Bacquet mill.
