It is a village full of resources and above all beautiful architectural discoveries. Here, goatherds and shepherds work tirelessly but the most famous is not famous for his herds: if he started by leading his sheep to the pastures, Pierre Loustanau left Aydius to become General of India and Governor of the city of Sikandra! Charming, hanging on the side of the mountain, its circus has been attracting men for a very long time! Archaeologists have found a rocky habitat dating back to protohistory, the Gandon-Lassus shelter. Much closer to home, in the mid-19th century, 950 people lived there. This population has declined sharply but this village grouped around the 14th and 15th century church of Saint-Martin retains a unique attraction. Washhouse, fountain drinking trough, mission cross, sloping streets where many 16th and 17th century houses.... The heritage is remarkable and look at the roofs, here the slate comes from the scree and the galleries of the mountain. Even more original, in summer, you may be able to take ablutions in the ruins of the Chichit baths built in the 19th century (abandoned in 1944). Indeed, the city has hosted a small spa on a ferruginous water spring renowned for treating rheumatism. You can see the remains of this structure on the right bank of Aydius' Gave.
