In addition to the Saint-Germain church, dating from the 12th century and enlarged in the 15th and 16th centuries, a perfect blend of Romanesque and Gothic art, visitors can also discover the marble quarries. The Ossau valley has long been a major source of income from the exploitation of its metamorphic limestone, as evidenced by the houses in the area, all of which feature elements often derived from waste from Arudy. From bluish-grey to polychrome, this marble was used to build the Château de Laeken in Belgium and the Empire State Building in New York. A quarry is still in operation to the west of Arudy.
