Aroue-Ithorots-Olhaïb is a municipality made up of three ancient localities whose architecture is characteristic of the Basque country with its beautiful buildings covered by two-sloped tile roofs, its immaculately whitewashed walls... With some houses from the 16th century, the castle of Joantho from the 13th century (now privately owned) enriches the heritage of this town, as well as the church of Saint-Etienne decorated with a Saint Jacques on horseback from the 12th century, looking like a matamore. The memory of Olhaïby will be kept of a church whose furniture (statues, altarpiece, processional cross...) plunges us straight into the 18th century
