Houlle is a small village in the hinterland of the Audomarois region, which has made a name for itself thanks to the distillation of genever, a famous grain brandy (rye, oats, barley) flavoured with juniper berries. The Peryn distillery, located in the centre of the village since 1927, is one of the last distilleries in Europe to work in a traditional way. This alcohol often accompanies the local cuisine (potjevleesch) and is even used to refine certain maroilles. A must-taste! Crossed by the small river Houlle, tributary of the Aa, the village is also the playground of fishermen
