The hero of the cloak-and-dagger novel will stay 15 years with the musketeers, stood up to the English... Dumas paints Aramis as a clergyman. This is not so, except that in real life he was a lay abbot. You can visit its church and its large 17th century portal. This is the last vestige of the lay abbey.
