The smallest commune in the Barétous valley, Ance is located between the villages of Féas and Aramits. It is crossed by the Vert, a tributary of the Gave d'Oloron. Its church, the main vestige of the past, has a master hotel and a tabernacle made of carved wood from the 18th century, classified as historic monuments. The economy of the municipality is based entirely on farms and their quality products. Some produce farm cheeses and other dairy products sold on the farm, others offer beef, veal and lamb meat for direct sale and on order. Ance is part of the Ossau-Iraty AOC Zone for cheese.
