Beuvry is the little green sister of nearby Béthune. A green and watery town of almost 10,000 inhabitants, Beuvry offers the charms of history and river tourism, with a nautical stopover unique in the region. Marked by the history of the Charitables, the recent discovery of the secret of its church and the revitalization of the Bellenville site, the town of the beaver, to which it owes its name, was built on sandstone, peat bogs and marshes, and still today enjoys a rare cultural and natural heritage that deserves to be rediscovered. Tours of the area are managed by the Béthune-Bruay tourist office.
