The village gave its name to one of the most decisive battles of the Hundred Years War. In the clearing between the woods of Azincourt and Tramecourt, on 25 October 1415, the French and English armies clashed. Heavy rain turned the battlefield into a quagmire, and the French soldiers, though outnumbered, literally got stuck in their heavy armour. Want to know more?
