Citadel housing the Urban Community of Arras, the Regional Center of Letters and Books Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
Nicknamed "La Belle Inutile" because it was never really used, the citadel has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. Outside is the Wall of the Gunned, which pays homage to the 218 members of the Resistance executed in the ditches. Since July 2010, the citadel has been hosting the Main Square Festival every summer, a major event on the rock and electro scene. The site is also home to the Urban Community of Arras, the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Regional Centre for Literature and Books, and Cit'Loisirs, a tree climbing course.
