Museum of Fine Arts with a beautiful collection of Flemish paintings and a remarkable archaeological crypt in Valenciennes.

Very well known by the locals, the Valenciennes Fine Arts Museum is also appreciated by tourists. In this majestic brick and stone building, you will find numerous works by local artists such as the sculptor Carpeaux and the painter Watteau, but also other great names such as Rubens, Jordaens... In addition to a collection of Flemish paintings, you will find its archaeological crypt which presents evidence of local history from the Celtic period to the Middle Ages.

Un des fleurons de cette ville qui gagne à être connue.
Bel édifice, et présentation des collections très agréable, dans une luminosité qui surprend. Carpeaux bien sûr... Rubens... et tant d'autres immenses artistes !

Alors c'est sûr ce n'est pas le Louvre, mais si vous êtes du coin, ça peut être une chance de découvrir de l'art, à prix réduit (6€ hors réductions).
Attention, fermé les lundis (ouvert uniquement aux groupes pour être plus précis) et mardis.
Le dimanche à 15h30 guide gratuit (il faut cependant acheter le billet d'entrée)
