The Aunelle valley, shared between industry and the countryside, stretches east of Valenciennes. An ancient marsh and forested area, it owes its economic development to the Benedictine development work. Water mills used to manufacture flour and oil continue to staking its route from Sebourg to Crespin, passing through Rombies-et-Marchipont. In a completely different area, the TGV, subway and Channel train Stations are built in Crespin.
