For centuries, pottery and glassmaking have been part of the economic history and life of the village of Sars-Poteries, which has kept the trace of it in its toponym, on a site occupied since prehistoric times - megaliths have been discovered there. The glass industry played an important role for almost one hundred and fifty years, from the beginning of the 19th century with the glass factories of En Bas and En Haut, which had up to 800 workers, and which closed permanently in 1937. To learn more about the glass industry, a visit to the MusVerre is a must! You can also appreciate two beautiful churches in the commune.
