Small commune of the North, Esnes is a place inhabited since the XIth century. Today, there are about 700 inhabitants. It is its castle which makes the fame of Esnes. It is a step not to be missed in your journey, if you are in search of beautiful discoveries! Built by Alard d'Esnes in 1007, this building, located in the middle of the village, allows a real immersion in the Middle Ages. Note some remarkable elements such as the dovecote, the porch, the big tower, the dungeon, as well as a very beautiful interior facade from the 17th century. A British military cemetery is also in the heart of the village.
