Located near Bailleul, about thirty kilometers (respectively) from Lille and Dunkirk, Eecke is a small commune with a little more than a thousand inhabitants and is part of the Community of Municipalities of Inner Flanders. The name, intriguing and smiling, has nothing to do with any question or hiccup: it simply means oak in West Flemish dialect. Eeck has some beautiful heritage resources to offer to those who come here: the pretty St. Wulmar church, the 17th century Klockhuis or the St. George Brewery. Don't forget to say hello to the local giant, Jules Boomzaeger!
