The commune of Deûlémont derives its name from the Flemish words (mouth) and deusle (rivers). Located at the confluence of La Lys and Deûle, this municipality of 1 600 inhabitants is a veritable concentrate of small wonders, including its church Saint-Symphorien. Completely destroyed during the First World War, the commune had to face the disappearance of the locks and then the border. It is now on the subject of river tourism, thanks to its Plaisance-Comines marina, where small electric boats are available without permits; many walks and hikes await you.
