Passing through Flanders? Feel free to spend some time in Berthen. A small village nestled between three mountains, the town offers a rural landscape ideal for walkers whatever the season. Situated near the Belgian border, the village, which has about 550 inhabitants, is not lacking in attractions. It has an exceptional geographical location, in the heart of a natural amphitheatre, with Mount Cas to the west, Mount Kokereel to the north-east and Mount Boeschepe to the north.Hiking (on foot, mountain bike, horseback...) is a good way to discover this beautiful little corner of Flanders, thanks to the many paths that criss-cross its territory. Moreover, it is possible to admire the landscape from the sky, since hot-air balloon departures are regularly organized from the slopes of Mont des Cats.
