In the heart of the Flanders region, between land and sea, nestles a small town whose picturesque charm is known the world over thanks to the film Bienvenue chez les Chtis. Nicknamed "the little Bruges of the North", Bergues is surrounded by numerous canals (it was built on a marshy area!), which lend charm and tranquility to this exceptional urban ensemble. But Bergues also boasts a superb belfry, a Unesco World Heritage site, the Mont de Piété, a veritable jewel of Flemish architecture brimming with masterpieces of Flemish painting, and the remains of the abbey that profoundly marked the town's history.
