Bantouzelle is a rural commune located in the district of Cambrai, populated by 440 Bantouzellois and Bantouzelloises. Intriguing, the name of this village would come from the Celtic words bant (which means marsh), and Zelle (a dug land). The name would thus mean the marshes below. If there are no more marshes nowadays in Bantouzelle, some places are worth the detour: a blockhouse of the First World War (to be coupled with the permanent exhibition at the marie), the church Notre-Dame de l'Assomption or the walking path which allows to discover the old abbey of Vaucelles while passing by the banks of the canal.
