Avesnes-les-Aubert is an urban municipality of 3628 Avesnois and Avesnoise, part of the Communauté d'agglomération du Caudrésis-Catésis. Like many other small towns in the region, Avesnes-les-Aubert was marked by the development of the textile industry and the development of the railroad. Nowadays, it is a quiet and peaceful place where it is good to stop for a break. Among other points of interest, there is a heritage house, an old brewery-malting factory (unfortunately destroyed in 1995) as well as two giants, "Grind'Rasette" and "Tiote Epoelle" respectively beet and weaver.
