The small town dominates the impetuous Garonne, behind its brick rampart. The town as such dates back to the 10th century and for a long time it drew its prosperity from the river because, given its location, it was the first port between Toulouse and Agen. And an architectural heritage including the castle of Queen Margot and its church. Today it is a pleasant town, already almost "Toulouse-like" in its light and colours, and is a very dynamic centre with its 4,000 inhabitants in the south of the department. A large number of cultural associations animate the town with, in particular, a magnificent festival of street shows every year at Pentecost.
