Located in the Pays de Serres in a green valley on the banks of the Escornebœuf stream, the village of Saint-Maurin has about 500 inhabitants. It has remained very well preserved and has kept intact all the charm of the life of the past. The abbey was built on the tomb of the martyr Saint Maurin, beheaded in Lectoure in the Gers. Partly destroyed during the French Revolution, it is now part of the European Federation of Cluniac Sites. Its abbey castle houses a museum of rural life and old trades. In the picturesque village center, you will discover, among other things, beautiful half-timbered houses, a wash house and a magnificent market hall
