"Agrimonte" (the high mountain) was the first name given to this pretty little village of golden stones centuries ago. Since the 13th century, its castle has dominated the area. For a long time, the Château de Gramont served as a defensive frontier between the French royal territory and the English possessions of Guyenne before becoming an elegant Renaissance residence. Over time, it has housed many illustrious people and the village at its feet has grown. A listed village with superb houses, manor houses and the hamlets of "Havarès", "Latroque" and "Gauran" are all privileges that make Gramont the undisputed jewel of the Lomagne.
