Belonging neither to the Roman peace nor to the English occupation, the etymology of Golfech is debated. What is known for sure is that it is today a charming village with a strong associative fabric and a peaceful life. According to old documents, Golfech has always suffered from the overflows of the Garonne. The walls of some houses or public buildings bear marks or annotations relating to the flood of March 3, 1930, do not fail to seek them. Don't miss the Saint-Louis church in Golfech either, which has a cul-de-four apse decorated with a series of six arches, a straight bay, a transept and a cross-vaulted nave.
